IS I.V. THERAPY SUITABLE FOR YOU? ARE YOU;
• stressed out?
• lacking energy?
• run down?
• burned out?
• suffering from Chronic Disease?
• getting older faster than you should?
DID YOU KNOW
Dr Georghy holds both medical and specialist degrees. He has a Medical Degree in Anti-ageing & Regenerative medicine from Dresden Medical University, Germany. He has also undertaken specialised training in intravenous nutritional therapy with the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM). Here at North Shore Cosmetic, we can tailor our IV infusions to ensure maximal effectiveness.
WHAT IS INTRA VENOUS (I.V.) NUTRITION THERAPY?
It is an infusion of liquid together with vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients delivered directly into the circulation going to all parts of the body, thus bypassing problems with digestion. It goes directly into the bloodstream and bypasses intestinal absorption.
All intravenous treatments are carried out by Dr Joseph Georghy personally (not by delegated staff). The strictest standards of hygiene and infection control are maintained and all consumables are discarded after use.
WHY SHOULD YOU CONSIDER IV NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?
The idea of IV nutritional therapy is that many illnesses and conditions are associated with digestive disturbances, mal-digestion, mal-absorption, food sensitivities, intestinal inflammation, and decreased production of digestive enzymes or hydrochloric acid. People with such conditions do not absorb many crucial nutrients necessary to return them to good health.
HIGH DOSE VITAMIN C
We need to replenish our water-soluble vitamins such as Vitamins B and C daily. While we can get these vitamins from various fruits and vegetables, many of us do not always consume enough on a daily basis. On top of that, many factors in our environment today deplete our body’s supply. These include smoking, alcohol, caffeine, cooking, eating produce that is not fresh, and particularly stress.
ALPHA LIPOIC ACID (ALA)
Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant that is made by the body and is found in every cell, where it helps turn glucose into energy. Unlike other antioxidants, which work only in water (such as vitamin C) or fatty tissues (such as vitamin E), alpha-lipoic acid is both fat and water soluble. That means it can work throughout the body. Antioxidants are substances that attack “free radicals”, waste products created when the body turns food into energy. Free radicals cause harmful chemical reactions that can damage cells in the body, making it harder for the body to fight off infections. They also damage organs and tissues.
HYDROGEN PEROXIDE (H2O2)
The cells in the body that fight infection, called granulocytes, produce H2O2 as a first line of defence against invading organisms e.g. parasites, viruses, bacteria and yeast. The intravenous introduction of hydrogen peroxide in the body leads to the release of single oxygen molecules in the cells and bloodstream.
Glutathione is an antioxidant that must be generated within the cell from its precursors before it can work effectively in the body. It is extremely important in many detoxification pathways. The presence of glutathione is required to maintain the normal function of the immune system. Glutathione scavenges free radicals, detoxifies poisons and heavy metals, helps deliver amino acids into the cells, helps in bile production and much, much more. Above all glutathione is extremely important in maintaining a healthy immune system.
Myers’ Cocktail is a mix of vitamins and minerals therapy developed in the 1970’s by John Meyer, M.D., a Baltimore physician at Johns Hopkins University. The cocktail is used for the treatment of a wide range of clinical conditions and to enhance your immune system.
MAGNESIUM & VITAMIN B
Magnesium and Vitamin B deficiency can be implicated in conditions such as Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, migraine, muscle spasm, addiction, PMS, and PTSD symptoms. Infusion of Magnesium and Vitamin B can help address deficiencies.
A typical magnesium infusion uses 2gm of magnesium or more, a dosage which taken orally would cause severe diarrhoea (think of a lot of Milk of Magnesia, which is magnesium) and would never increase the body’s magnesium stores. Therefore, using a high dose infusion to help rebuild the body, while providing an extra for storage, is an ideal way to reduce symptoms and restore health.
• IV B-Dose (B1 ,B2, B3, B5, B6)
• Thiamine Hydrochloride (B1)
• Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (B6)
• Methcobalamin Injection (B12) – The health of hair and skin can be effected by B12 deficiency.
• Folic Acid
ALSO AVAILABLE: MAGNESIUM, ZINC, SELENIUM, TRACE ELEMENTS, VITAMIN D3, IRON ETC.
NOT ALL IVS ARE THE SAME
Standard IV products often have preservatives. We use preservative-free nutrients. We often filter these with a point 2 micron filter, a tiny filter that filters out bacteria, fungi and particulate matter. This is worth it to avoid the preservative additives. We use both BPA-free IV bags and glass bottles because they are better for the environment – they can be recycled.
All injectables are ordered from Biological Therapies, an Australian owned company licenced with the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) to manufacture a comprehensive range of sterile injectable products.
Dr Georghy has attended the workshop on Injectable Nutrient Therapies run by ACMN (Australasian College of Medical Nutrition). This is a thorough, hands-on training with clinical experts and scientists and is based on research as published in the scientific medical literature.
Supplying Company: Biological Therapies
A TGA licensed, PIC’s standard GMP manufacturer of sterile injectables.
The clinic uses Hospira™, Hospital grade infusion pump.
It delivers precise volume at a given time. The pump is a TGA approved device.
The patient can be supine or in an armchair. While you are receiving the treatment you can do your work:
• Reading, writing or using your iPod (wifi connection available) or relax and listen to background music.
• iv2Infusion Therapy: A patient receiving medications via intravenous therapy.
• The patient returns to work immediately after the procedure.
HOW MUCH DOES I.V. TREATMENT COST?
The cost of IV treatments depends on various factors such as the dose of vitamins and the method of administration.
All costs are discussed during consultation. There is no Medicare rebate and private health funds do not cover for intravenous therapy.
