Scaling, Cleaning and Fluoride

This is where dental health starts. There is just no substitute for physically removing disease causing dental plaque and calculus, especially in the hard to reach area near the gum-line. Professional cleaning removes accumulated plaque and calculus that has formed. Also, it can easily spot early gum disease. Early detection is the key to reversing damage to gums, damage to underlying bone, preventing tooth loss, and avoiding the need for more extensive treatment.

Fluoride is the mineral which is incorporated into the teeth’s mineral structure making them stronger and decay resistant. Fluorides can even reverse tiny cavities that are starting to form. We are getting fluoride from toothpaste and drinking water. In the surgery we apply directly on the teeth in much higher concentration for more effective results.
