Vitiligo

Definition: Vitiligo is a skin disorder that causes depigmentation from areas of the skin resulting in white spots or patches. It occurs when melanocytes, the cells responsible for skin pigmentation, are “poisoned” and die or are unable to function and produce melanin.
Despite research, the cause of vitiligo is unknown.

Vitiligo (white patches) is notoriously difficult to treat, however, thanks to years of experience and passionate follow up Dr Joseph Georghy has developed a treatment for Vitiligo – one of the most extreme examples of hypopigmentation. Having observed that vitiligo may be associated with a deficiency in vitamin D (or the ‘sunshine vitamin’), Iron deficiency, thyroid disease, hormonal imbalance, autoimmune disorders, etc., Dr Georghy uses combine therapy to  bio-stimulate  the melanogenesis (natural process of melanin biosynthesis) and possibly reactivation of the patient's ‘inactive’ or ‘sick’ melanocytes. This treatment results in melanin producing melanocytes, negating the need for ongoing prescription medication and avoiding their associated side effects. Although it takes a number of treatments, patients can look forward to results that continue to improve.
